【摘要】:ThistestmethodevaluatesRECPsandtheirmeansofinstallationto:5.1.1Reducesoillossandsedimentconcentrationsinstormwaterrunoffunderconditionsofvaryingchannelconditionsandsoiltype;5.1.2Functionwithinacompositesystemactingasvegetativereinforcement;and5.1.3Improvewaterqualityexitingtheareadisturbedbyearthworkactivitybyminimizingmobilizationofin-situparticleswithinthestreambed.Thistestmethodmodelsandexaminesconditionstypicallyfoundonconstructionsitesinvolvingearthworkactivities,including:highwaysandroads;airports;residential,commercialandindustrialdevelopments;pipelines,mines,andlandfills;golfcourses;etc.Thistestmethodisaperformancetest,butcanbeusedforqualitycontroltodetermineproductconformancetoprojectspecifications.Cautionisadvisedsinceinformationregardinglaboratoryspecificprecisionisincomplete.Forprojectspecificconformance,uniqueproject-specificconditionsshouldbetakenintoconsideration.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheguidelines,requirementsandproceduresforevaluatingtheabilityofRolledErosionControlProducts(RECPs)toprotectearthenchannelsfromstormwater-inducederosion.CriticalelementsofthisprotectionaretheabilityoftheRECPto:1.1.1Neutralizeandabsorbthehydraulicforceofstormwater,therebyreducingsoilparticlelooseningthrough"scour"mechanisms;1.1.2Slowrunoffandencouragesedimentation,therebyreducingsoilparticletransportdownstream;1.1.3Absorbshearforcesofoverlandflow;1.1.4Trapsoilparticlesbeneath;and1.1.5Promotetheestablishmentofvegetation.1.2Thistestmethodutilizesfull-scaletestingprocedures,ratherthanreduced-scale(bench-scale)simulation,andispatternedafterconditionstypicallyfoundonconstructionsitespriortoandafterrevegetationwork.Further,proceduresforevaluationofbaselineconditionsareprovided.Thus,testpreparation,testexecution,datacollection,dataanalysisandreportingprocedureshereinareintendedtobesuitablefortestingofbaresoil,unvegetatedRECP,vegetatedsoilandvegetatedRECPconditions.1.3ThistestmethodprovidesacomparativeevaluationofanunvegetatedRECPtobaselinebaresoilconditionsandavegetatedRECPtoabaseline,vegetatedconditionundercontrolledanddocumentedconditions.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationpurposesonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Also,theusermustcomplywithprevalentregulatorycodes,suchasOSHA(OccupationalHealthandSafetyAdministration)guidelines,whileusingthetestmethod.
